Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept Insurance?
We no longer work directly with any insurance company for many reasons. 1) Insurance companies attempt to define and determine care that we believe is between the client and the provider. 2) They also tend to require clinicians to attach a service address to the invoice which doesn't work well for outdoor sessions. 3) They require diagnoses to justify individual therapy and not everyone wants that on their medical record. 4) They make the process extremely cumbersome.
So, we charge a competitive fee and give a full hour (or more) to each client. If you wish, we can produce a document called a "Superbill" (Insurance industry word) that has diagnosis, billing code, licensure info, amount paid, etc. that clients can turn in to their insurance company for repayment. In order to do this, you must have insurance with "Out-of-Network" benefits and follow their rules/reimbursement regulations. At the end of your session, your card on file will be billed for the session fee. Each month, you can pull your Superbill off of your "Client Portal" and submit it to your insurance company. Any reimbursement you receive will be sent directly to you by them.
Can I Use My HSA Card for Therapy?
YES! Many clients use their HSA cards to pay for therapy. Simply use that card when you fill out the payment authorization and credit card information forms and your fees will automatically be deducted from your HSA.
Can we meet outside of work hours?
We understand that many people have jobs and cannot regularly miss work in the middle of the afternoon for therapy. It also gets very hot in Florida afternoons and commonly storms. So, our sessions take place beginning at 6am and run hourly until noon. An initial session tends to last longer, so they are scheduled at 10 or 11. However, if you need to be at work, we have 6am and 7am slots just for that reason. Kayak, Cold Water Training and Exposure, and lunch sessions take place outside of these hours.
Where do these sessions take place?
In the interest of confidentiality, you will be notified where to meet after you've filled out the intake forms and been scheduled with an appointment. We will meet at a park within close driving distance from Melbourne, the beaches, Patrick SFB, Viera, Palm Shores, Rockledge, Palm Bay, and West Melbourne. We also have many clients who drive from other areas of Brevard.
How much does this cost?
Regular sessions at the park cost $155 which is billed to your credit card on file automatically (no receptionist or card machine available at the park). Sessions typically last 1 full hour but, according to need and schedule, may last longer. Initial sessions are planned for approximately 90 mins and cost the same. Non-typical sessions like kayaking and lunch sessions take more time for travel and setup, so pricing for those differs according to location and type.
